Hello.

We are a family farm in Red Deer, Alberta. Our family of five moved to Canada from South Africa in 2020. We are first generation Canadians and first generation farmers. Dear Dahlia has been our life long dream and we feel so blessed to be making it a reality. We have always looked at farms we drove past and said to each other "we hope the people living there know how lucky they are", and now we are so blessed to be "those people". And trust us, we know how fortunate we are!!

Like most of you, we also have a funny flower story. We wanted dahlias as our wedding flowers and were told they might not be available or in season. So we decided to grow our own from seed, turned out that the "dahlias" we planted were in fact zinnias (the florists stepped in and found beautiful red dahlias for the bouquet). Luckily we've grown since then and now know a lot more about flowers. Our first backyard as a married couple was about the size of a dining room table but we planted every inch of it. Friends were gifted chillies and lettuce and whatever we managed to harvest.

On our Dear Dahlia farm we offer a beautiful selection of cut-flowers, fresh produce, raw honey and organic farm eggs. During the flower season we have hand tied bouquets available as well as on-farm flower workshops and picking events.
