Organic chicken eggs

There really is nothing that tastes quite like fresh farm eggs. Having chickens and getting our own eggs was one of the main reasons our family started farming. We are so excited to be able to share them with you. You want to try them (or order more)!

A bit about the ladies...

We currently have 31 chickens who lay rainbow coloured eggs every day. Some of our breeds include Lohmann browns, easter egger, olive egger, orpington and Wyandottes. They are super friendly and are loved by our children and everyone who visits the farm.

What do we feed the chickens?

We care about the ladies' health and know that how well they are fed has a direct impact on the quality of the eggs. Our chickens are allowed to scratch and forage during the warmer months. We grow our own vegetables and herbs and the chickens get some daily during the growing season. They specifically love kale!

We proudly support another local farm, ZS farms, who provides us with organic chicken feed. All of their feed is non-GMO, canola, soy, corn fungicide, insecticide and glyphosate residual free. Please visit their website at http://zsfarms.com/

Why are eggs good for you? And farm eggs even better?

  • Eggs are a good source of protein and contain many essential vitamins and minerals such as  A, B5, B12, D, E, K, B6, Folate, Phosphorus, Selenium, Calcium, Zinc and Omega-3.

  • Eggs also increase good cholesterol and help maintain eyesight and brain function.

  • The nutritional content of eggs vary according to the chicken's diet and environment - we make sure our ladies eat only the best!

  • Fresher is always better - our eggs are not washed so they keep their protective layer and can last for up to two weeks unrefrigerated and about three months or more in your refrigerator.

  • Getting eggs directly from the farm means that your eggs are as fresh as possible.

Where can you get eggs?

Our eggs are available in the shop section of our website as a once-off purchase, weekly or bi-weekly subscription. You are welcome to either pick up your eggs at the farm or contact me and we can make an arrangement to meet up in town. If you prefer delivery, we charge a small delivery fee and we will bring the eggs to your front door. We also sell our eggs at Farmer's markets in the summer.
